Updating older homes has a big impact.  This room was once a typical den.  It felt heavy, with a lot of stained wood and dark brick.  Painting the room, some of the trim and the fireplace was step one to the transformation.  Add in fresh fabrics, art, furniture and accessories, and voila!; it is now a bright and happy gathering spot.
